Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 April 2026
These Terms govern your use of the ChowCourt mobile application and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
ChowCourt is a marketplace that connects you with restaurants and riders in Akure, Nigeria. We are not the cook and we are not the rider — we coordinate them.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or have parental consent) to create an account. You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile information and for keeping your password confidential.
3. Orders and payments
- Prices and availability are set by each restaurant and may change.
- Online payments are processed by Paystack. You authorise the charge when you tap "Pay".
- For cash on delivery, payment is due on receipt.
- Delivery fees are calculated at checkout. They may include surge pricing during peak hours.
- Promo codes are subject to the conditions shown when applied.
4. Cancellations and refunds
- You can cancel an order before the restaurant marks it "preparing". After that, cancellation is subject to the restaurant's discretion.
- If a restaurant cancels, online payments are refunded to your wallet within 24 hours.
- If your order arrives wrong or missing items, contact support within 24 hours of delivery.
5. Conduct
You agree not to:
- Place fraudulent orders or use stolen payment methods.
- Abuse, threaten, or harass our staff, restaurants, or riders.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Resell food ordered through ChowCourt commercially without our permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.
6. Restaurant content
Menus, prices, photos, and descriptions are provided by partner restaurants. We do our best to keep them accurate but cannot guarantee them. If something looks wrong, please let us know.
7. Allergies and food safety
Restaurants prepare food in shared kitchens. If you have a serious allergy, contact the restaurant directly before ordering. ChowCourt can't guarantee that any meal is free from a specific allergen.
8. Intellectual property
The ChowCourt name, logo, app, and website are owned by us. You may not use any of them without permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChowCourt is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days before the claim arose.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of Ondo State.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we'll notify you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the change means you accept the new Terms.
